Top o the morning to ya…..

…and the rest of the day to yourself……..(did you know that was the rest of that saying?)

This Irish-American mutt wishes you all a Happy St. Patty’s Day.

May you live a long life Full of gladness and health, With a pocket full of gold As the least of you wealth. May the dreams you hold dearest, Be those which come true, The kindness you spread, Keep returning to you.”  Irish blessing

No there is no corned beef & cabbage in this house, there never was.  I was in Ireland for 3 weeks & never had it & don’t remember it being ‘featured’ either.

Of the things I do remember?  They used coffee ‘press’ pots (probably not the technical term) but those cool looking pots that you use a press to get the grounds to the bottom of the glass pot.  Either we were not talented or it doesn’t really work all that well.

I remember that virtually every place we ate had a different version of vegetable soup.  I literally ate a million variations of vegetable soup from Dublin to Shannon.

I remember meeting wonderful people & seeing amazing places.  Travelling on some tiny ‘roads’ &  traffic jams (ok well animals blocking the road)

I’m lucky, I get to be of Irish descent every day & I don’t even have to wear green, since I have the red hair thing going.

They say everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, so enjoy your day of ‘being’ Irish today.

If you are going out to celebrate, please be careful.

sorry, another pinterest from iphone credit here

  1. An Irish Prayer

    May God give you…
    For every storm, a rainbow,
    For every tear, a smile,
    For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
    For every problem life sends,
    A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

    Happy St. Patty’s Day 😀

  2. Oops.. pasted the wrong one. Let’s try this again….

    An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
    And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
